We are very proud of our dogs. We bought our first dog 13 years ago and have saved ourselves a lot of mile moving cattle and have enjoyed watching the dogs work. We built our foundation of stock dogs on Gilbert's Stockdogs Razor's Zack and Gilbert's Belle breeding. I was once told "Quality is like buying oats. If you want good quality oats you will pay a fair price. If, however, you're satisfied with oats that have already passed through the horse, you may be able to save a little money!"
Our dogs look like Border Collies but are actually Cattlemaster Crossbreds. Razor's Zack was sired by a registered border collie and out of a Cattlemaster female. A true cattlemaster is 1/2 Border Collie, 3/8 Kelpie, and 1/8 Pitbull. We have continued to cross these lines staying as close to the Razor's Zack line as possible. They are registered with the Working Cow Dog Registry.
After several years of using our dogs around the ranch, we began trialing a few of our dogs in the spring of 2014.

The Originals
Jake--Male (Breeding Unknown) Dec 2001-April 2015
13 years ago I acquired Jake as a 5 week old pup. He was my first stockdog and I guess just beginner's luck but I ended up with a good one. Jake is stockdog bred but I never inquired about it. Jake's sire came to Colorado via the Red Bluff sale and was very impressive to watch. Jake was strong enough to work pairs, soft enough to gather our show cattle, and had the desire to work with plenty of bite. 12 hard years and thousands of ranch miles "Father Time" has caught up. Jake was retired from daily work in 2012. I can't go without thanking Shelley Ward for her care of Jake in his later years. She gave him "easy street" and for that we are forever grateful.

Flo-- Female (Razor's Zack x Gilbert's Bell) DOB Oct 2009
Cattlemaster Crossbred
Flo was bred right and was impressive. She was very biddable and knew how to handle stock. We had one litter of pups out of Flo before she was hurt and never bred her again. She will be missed. Raised by Jirl BuckCattlemaster Crossbred

Rock--Male (Razor's Zack x Gilbert's Belle) DOB Oct 2009
Cattlemaster Crossbred
Spook--Female (Jake x Flo (Razors Zack x Belle) DOB Dec 2010
Cattlemaster Crossbred
Spook was our pick of Flo's only litter. She was just what we were expecting when this cross was made. Durable, Strong Minded, Athletic, Dependable, and will hit both ends. Her desire to work and willingness to please will not be outdone. She is used on the ranch daily and has great cow sense. Spook has been sold to our good friend Lloyd Dodson from Lousiana. Contact us or Lloyd for litter inquiries. Raised by us Cattlemaster Crossbred
Boo--Female (Cowboy x Gilbert's Mercedes (Razors Zack)) DOB 2010
Cattlemaster Crossbred
This foundation female is the mother to Kirby Ellenburg's 2013 futurity champion Hoss, as well as Jim Seals good female Hope that I think may be one of the best females I have ever seen. We love a good female and for us what makes a good female great, is when they produce the great ones. It is hard to find young, proven, and genetically superior females and she fits the bill. We will continue to mate her. A few pups may be sold but they won't come cheap. She can crank out the good!! She ties some of the greatest stockdogs together in her pedigree and its not just one generation it's top to bottom. Hooch, Zack, Meg, Grizz, and Tony is all there and she can produce!! Tri Colored and Prick Eared. Owned with our good friend Jim Seals.Cattlemaster Crossbred

Bone--Male--Gilbert's Badge (Gilbert's Boomer x Sissy) x Boo DOB Oct 2013
Cattlemaster Crossbred
When we purchased Boo this is the kind of dog that we wanted to make. Boo is a proven producer of great dogs (Kirby Ellenburg's Hoss and Jim Seal's Hope--both out of the same litter) and Bone is a full sibling to both. I can't promise he will be be the next great one but I can dang sure promise you he is bred right in our opinion!! This mating has produced numerous good dogs and we hope Bone carries on the tradition.
Bone was a Top 10 Finalist in the 2015 Sundowner Stockdog Futurity. He handled great but we just didn't have the right draw in the finals to finish in the Top 3 spots. We had a calf that decided it was much easier to jump out of the arena!! That's just part of it. I wouldn't trade him for any other dog in the futurity!! STRONG, bites both ends, and MOMMA COW TOUGH!!! We have been using him outside of the "trial settings" and he can flat get it done!!
We will be collecting semen on Bone in the fall of 2015. As always you can bring your female to get bred of call us and we can sell you frozen semen. $500 Stud Fee

The Next Generation
Kate--Female--William's Cye (Gilbert's Boomer x Babe (Razors Zack x Meg)) x Boo
DOB Jan 2015
Cattlemaster Crossbred
This mating is something I was looking forward to when we purchased Boo. Ole' Cye is as good of a dog as you will find. He wins trials, can be used in the pasture on momma cows, and is STOUT biting the front end. Boo seemed to cross well with Gilbert's Badge (Boomer) and I figured why not try her to another Boomer son. The verdict is still out on Kate but I can promise you I have not had a female that I liked this much as this age since Spook......

Josey--Female--Stimatze Jett x Stimatze Amy
DOB October 2014
Registered Border Collie
We are always looking for a good female to add to our program and when the opportunity came up to own a daughter of Laura Stimatze's Jett and Amy we had to jump on it. We are about as deep in Razor blood as you can get and have had some GREAT dogs from that line. One thing we have learned from the cattle business is that outcrossing will produce "Hybrid Vigor". Laura Stimatze has bred some REALLY nice dogs over the years using the McCallum line and we felt like if we were going to outcross our Razor blood we wanted to use a line of dogs that have stayed true and proven.
Josey is just a yearling but she looks like the right kind!! Thanks to Jeff Williams for giving us the chance to buy her.
Patch--Female--Gilbert's Badge (Boomer x Sissy) x Boo
DOB July 2015
Cattlemaster Crossbred
The pedigree says it all......Full sib to Hoss, Hope, Bone and a Maternal Sister to Kate.
Time will tell but the deck is stacked in her favor!!!
