Summer update

Spring came and went and summer has almost done the same. I had not realized that I haven't updated the site since January but we are back!! Spring was great in Oklahoma. Much cooler temps, lots of RAIN, and GRASS. We had a busy spring calving, then breeding, and did I mention the rain?? It was sure a blessing but it was sure tough to get much done and stay dry. Summer brought some of the nicest weather I can remember and a busy schedule as well. As soon as breeding came to and end and the last round of embryos were implanted we left for 10 days or so and attended the National Junior Maine Show in Springfield, Illinois. Grady and Hudson both enjoy the National Junior Show each year. It is a highlight of our summer. With some luck Grady was selected the Grand Champion female. These two have had quite the run!! Hudson should be old enough to start next year.....I'm not sure dad is ready for that but Hudson says he is....lol

Mid summer we bought a futurity prospect that we sure have high hopes for. With not enough time to train dogs for ourselves, we sent Bone to our good friends at Gilbert Stockdogs. He will stay with Paul through the Sundowner Futurity in November. We hope to have him ready to trial by Tulsa's Jack King Futurity as well. He is a Gilbert's Badge x Razors Boo which makes him a full brother to Kirby Ellenburg's Hoss. Nice bred and good looking pup.

Late summer a friend of mine called who had bought a pup we raised and was needing to sell him. The dog was currently at Paul Gilbert's and he had put 90+days on him. After a quick trip to go see the pup we bought him back. He is a Hoss x Spook. Hoss was the 2013 SSA Futurity and 2014 Jack King Futurity Champion and Spook was the 2014 Reserve Novice DOY in the SSA. He is currently for sale. We have enjoyed having him around. LOTS of natural balance, herding ability, and intense. Call to inquire 580-759-9694

Until next time enjoy the fall and if we can help you please give us a call. Dogs and Cattle for sale year round!!
